I've been sick, and I honestly have no clear picture of when these were taken. My album has them labeled as day 6-7 (yesterday and the day before) but that's probably not 100% accurate. Whatever.
17 August Edit: The original dates are actually 5 July for the Lauf pictures and 6 July for bowling.

Chocolate balls! Made by Chewy brand! I may be mature enough for this trip, but I'm still 17 enough for this picture. |
The town of Lauf, which looks like Nuremburg's Innenstadt with even less modern stuff. |
Does it get any more European? |
More of Lauf. |
And more. |
No city is complete without a Schloss! Lauf's is situated on a river island just outside of town. |
It's pretty picturesque here. |
A little reflection garden in the shadow of the Schloss. |
If this is the same place where Dad bought his guitar, I will eat my nonexistent hat. |
We went bowling last night. It was fun, and would have been more so if I weren't feeling like death. |
Our team's final score. I'm the first K, and, yes, I got two strikes in a row once. |
uebel :: nauseous
Kapitaen fuehlt sich den ganzen Tag uebel.
Kirk felt nauseous all day.
Hey, Kirk--Lauf looks like a really quaint village, as German as it gets. BTW--your dad bought his guitar in Mittenwald. I am sorry to hear you're still under the weather--hang in there, Young Man. Pretty neat that you got to go bowling in Germany!! Love, Grandmom
ReplyDeleteDid the bowling alley have animated score boards like ours do? Did your host family bowl with you or was it just the American group? What a beautiful town. I loved all the photos. Have you tried any of the candy there? Like Schokoballs?? I bet Cole-Cole would have loved them!!
ReplyDeleteActually, the bowling alley was a Brunswick with animations pretty much identical to ours. They even have Cosmic Bowling some nights.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! How are you feeling??
